Accessibility statement

Last updated: May 30, 2026

The Private Physicians Alliance is committed to making ppa.health accessible to people with disabilities. We design and build to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard and review compliance regularly.

What we do

  • Semantic structure. Pages are built with semantic HTML so screen readers and assistive technology can navigate landmarks, headings, and lists predictably.
  • Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element — menus, forms, links, the membership wizard — is reachable and operable using only a keyboard, with visible focus states.
  • Color contrast. Body text meets WCAG AA contrast (at least 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Interactive states are distinguishable in color and form.
  • Alt text. Meaningful images carry descriptive alt attributes; purely decorative images are flagged so assistive tech can skip them.
  • Forms. Every input has an associated label, and validation errors are announced to assistive technology.
  • Reduced motion. Animations respect the operating system’s prefers-reduced-motion setting and degrade to static transitions when requested.

Known limitations

We test the site against the most common assistive technologies, but accessibility is ongoing work. If you encounter content that does not meet the WCAG 2.2 AA standard, we want to know — please tell us so we can fix it.

Report a barrier

If you encounter an accessibility issue, please email info@ppa.health with:

  • The page URL where the issue occurred.
  • A short description of what you were trying to do and what went wrong.
  • The assistive technology you were using, if any (e.g. JAWS, VoiceOver, NVDA, voice control).

We aim to respond within two business days.

Third-party content

Some pages on ppa.health include third-party content (e.g. embedded video, partner widgets). While we encourage our partners to meet accessibility standards, we cannot guarantee third-party content matches the standard PPA applies to its own pages. If you encounter a problem with third-party content, let us know and we will advocate with the partner.
