About Cari Dawson.

Dr. Cari Dawson is a board-certified internist in Denver. She started her undergraduate studies at Bucknell University and completed a BA in biology at the University of Colorado, then earned her medical degree at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She stayed at UCHSC for her Internal Medicine internship and residency, picked up several departmental awards along the way, and finished as Chief Resident.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, she practices at the Colorado Center of Medical Excellence in Denver and has cared for patients in the city since 2001. She also holds a clinical faculty appointment at UCHSC, where she has taught and mentored medical students and residents for years. Her clinical focus runs to preventative medicine, cardiovascular health, and women's health, and her peers have named her a 5280 Magazine "Top Internal Medicine Doctor" in 2021, 2023, and 2024.

On the PPA Board, she brings the perspective of a practicing internist whose work centers on long-term, preventative care.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Dawson spends her time exercising, getting outdoors, traveling, and with her husband and their three children.
